Arrival & Dismissal

Please pull your car in carefully to a spot in the parking lot, or patiently await instruction from our custodian directing traffic. At times, to better accommodate and facilitate traffic and parking, our custodians may instruct you on where to park and enter/exit the lot. Additional parking may be found on Flower Avenue or with permission on Broadway during school-wide events. Each morning, please walk the children into the Temple building through the front doors, and also leave through the front doors as well. Note: our front door is very heavy, and must be opened by adults only!

All children must be walked to their classroom or meeting area by an adult. Children are to be signed-in by their accompanying adult, on daily forms available in the classrooms. Please note that when the time comes, the 3’s and 4's will be hanging their coats, and leaving their boots, in the Parent Resource Room (a.k.a. coat room) by their marked coat hooks, and should then be accompanied to their classroom. Children must be accompanied by an adult if using the elevator. Children are not permitted to be in the elevator unless supervised.

Our 2's, 3's, and 4's are picked up by their designated adult from their respective classrooms. All children must be signed-out. Make sure you have a current PARENT CONTACT/AUTHORIZATION UPDATE form establishing your "usual" pick-up arrangements. Only an authorized individual (as noted on the this form) may notify teachers of any change in these pick-up arrangements, and enter the information on the Daily Dismissal Log which is located in each of the classrooms. These logistics are very important. Your class teachers will provide additional instructions for helping to make these transitions occur as smoothly as possible. Please sign-in at the front desk at all other times, if you are visiting school.

Before leaving school, check your child's mail bag or mailbox, and make sure that you have everything that is supposed to be taken home. We often distribute information and materials to be brought home. It is also helpful to check your child's mail upon arrival.

It is important that the children know whom to expect at dismissal time. Once they are dismissed, the children are to be supervised by that adult at all times while inside the Temple building, in the parking lot, or on the Temple property and grounds. A successful completion of the school day is assisted by a smooth and prompt transition to the rest of the day’s activities outside of school.
