Nursery School
All our classes incorporate age appropriate indoor and outdoor activities. All scheduling is planned in large blocks of time, and is open to daily variations according to special events, the time of the year, the weather, and the children's needs. The schedule for a "typical" day includes:
- Arrival, welcome/greeting.
- Free play/ group activity, exploration and use of all play
centers and equipment in classrooms. Creative art, playdough,
dramatic play, music, building, fine motor activities, table toys,
puzzles, books, and so on. - Clean-up, toilet, and hand washing.
- Snack, conversation
- Circle time: Story. Singing. Creative movement. Music.
- Playground; outdoor play, gross motor activities.
- Dismissal, goodbyes.
Our program is regularly enhanced by the following special events:
- American Sign Language with Debra Aronson
- Music with Dolores Jiji
- Creative Movement; Yoga; Gymnastics with Jump for Joy
- Nature and the environment with The Nature of Things
Each week Cantor Robin joins the children to sing songs for Shabbat. The Rabbi often visits with our classes on Shabbat, and is also available for you to speak with throughout the year.
