Tzedakah Activities

The nursery school joins a group of Temple members who meet on a regular basis to involve our children and families in acts of “Tzedakah” and social awareness projects. Our Friday Shabbat celebrations include the opportunity to make weekly donations to the class tzedakah box, and to contribute non-perishable food items for families (items are distributed throughout the Rivertowns by the Hastings Youth Advocate’s office). There are other school and Temple-wide activities throughout the year, including a Yom Kippur food drive, new hats, mittens and socks collected in December for area youth (infant through teens), the Gift of Chanukah presents, gently used books and toys, and various hands-on projects that are rewarding for all. Our nursery school has liaisons to the Tzedakah Kids Committee. Please contact us for further committee information.
