Torah Restoration Project
Restoring Our Scrolls, Renewing Our Souls, One Letter At A Time…
YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR SYNAGOGUE’S TORAH RESTORATION PROJECT!
During classes and workshops we will be repairing our Torah Scrolls – the parchment will be patched, sewn and cleaned, and the broken letters redrawn. Through this hands-on process, we will be guided by the insights and talents of nationally recognized scribe, Sofer Neil Yerman. As a scribe, artist and calligrapher, Sofer Neil Yerman is widely admired for inspiring an appreciation of the beauty of the physical Torah as well as for the wisdom and guidance that it contains. With his warm and engaging manner, Sofer Yerman excites and educates all who gather around him — from the youngest to the oldest. Members and their families, congregants of all ages, are invited to participate in writing a Hebrew letter in the Torah. Writing in the Torah is a profound spiritual and educational experience — and a fun one too. Here’s how you can participate:
