Religious School
The Talmud teaches: “A house of worship can be turned into a schoolhouse but a schoolhouse cannot be turned into a house of worship.” We must always move to a higher level of the sacred. Nothing is more sacred in the Jewish tradition than study, and no relationship is more sacred than the relationship between a student and a teacher.
A story. A prince once fled from the king’s palace to a far away country. The king sent a message “Return to me!” The prince responded “I cannot.” Some time later the king again implored the prince “Return to me.” This time the prince responded “I want to… but I cannot come the entire way.” Now the king wrote “Then come as far as you can and I will meet you there.”
We reach out to our community, to both adults and children, whatever lifestyle they lead, whatever background they have – to tell our story in the hope that their story will become our story.
