"Our life is a dance to a song we cannot hear"
Our community is truly a "mixed multitude" of families and individuals seeking to hear the voice, the song which influences our being. The song reaches back through a history of searching for God and carries us from sacred moments of the past to moments in our present which infuse our lives with meaning.
We tell stories, we chant stories, we stand as a community to honor a scroll of stories – our Torah – which sings to us the questions and responses which guide our lives and teach us to become human.
Temple Beth Shalom in Hastings is a liberal congregation of over 400 families, with a nursery school for 2-,3- and 4-year-olds, a religious school for kindergarten through high school, and an elaborate selection of adult education programs.
